August VIII

I. One cup of coffee a day that lasts nine hours and four reheats.

II. The house being filled with laughter again as friends gather around for the re-established monthly game night.

III. Another degree in the house, another proud graduate with more free time in the evenings for rocking chair evenings and quiet conversations.

IV. Learning new rhythms, sometimes daily.

V. Breathe in, breathe out, breathe through. Practicing grace for my household, for myself when mom brain has me putting a dirty diaper back on my baby for a second before I realize the clean diaper is still sitting next to her.

VI. The few and far between days of slight relief from the scorching heat. The triple digit days are becoming fewer and further between.

VII. Practicing a skill: baking. Making a mess in the kitchen while the baby sleeps on my chest.

VIII. Pumpkin drinks: the beginning of ushering in fall.
