Where Your Feet Are

I've always looked for signs and patterns around me. Words or phrases that pop up repeatedly in unconnected events tend to make their home in my mind for awhile.

Recently i read the phrase, "Be where your feet are "and jotted it down, because it resonated with me. Unfortunately. I didn't write down the book title or author. I heard the phrase again on the Kelce brothers' podcast.

Be where your feet are. It's easier said than done when we're carrying around thousands of ways to avoid reality in our pocket.

Be where your feet are. It's difficult when anxieties about the future or regrets about the past are busy trying to steal the present moment from you.

If your feet are dancing, what good will it do you to worry about your job review next week and miss the joy of the moment?

Be where your feet are. We miss out on the joy of so many moments while we're in them, because we're busy escaping reality or worrying about moments yet to come.

Be where your feet are. Walk outside barefoot, feel the dirt under your toes. Cook in the kitchen with music and laughter, inhale deeply the life you're living.

Be where your feet are. Don’t get so caught up in what was or what will be that you become a bystander in your own life.

Cheering you on from the sidelines,

SB
